Services offered by the GenderCompetenceCenter
the GenderCompetenceCenter offered strategic advice on the implementation of Gender Mainstreaming in practice for institutions. Within the framework of implementation strategies, primarily for Federal Government Ministries, the GenderCompetenceCenter also runs the “GM in Action” workshop on Gender Mainstreaming tools in actual practice.
The GenderCompetenceCenter sees itself as a nerve center for gender competence and quality assurance. It worked with experts from many different areas and aimed to provide information to ensure quality in Gender Mainstreaming processes.
The GenderCompetenceCenter was an application-oriented research institute within the Center for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies (ZtG) at the Humboldt-Universität in Berlin and was active in research and teaching.
We worked according to scholarly and scientific principles and are independent. Decisive factors for us included:
- a scientifically-founded relation to Gender for the transference of gender research into practice
- openness to all questions
- research and teaching on Gender Mainstreaming
- excellent advice on strategies and tools for Gender Mainstreaming
- groundbreaking ways for drawing attention to gender equality issues.
